If you do not have a notation program, Overture SE comes bundled with Garritan Personal Orchestra. GPO Studio Garritan Personal Orchestra Studio manages eight instances of the Garritan Personal Orchestra VST plug-in so that you can play up to 64 instruments simultaneously from your MIDI program. You can save sessions, load them again and load pre configured templates designed for typical orchestral needs.

Works with all Leading Sequencer Programs: Garritan Personal Orchestra works with popular sequencer programs such as Cubase, SONAR etc. and is Compatible with all of the main plug in formats such as VST 2.0, DXi2, RTAS, OS X AudioUnits.

Universal Format: Garritan Personal Orchestra will run on Mac OS and Windows platforms, either as a standalone program or as a plug-in for Cubase, SONAR etc. (supporting VST, DXi, RTAS, and OS X AudioUnits). Garritan Personal Orchestra instruments will also load into KONTAKT, Native Instruments' flagship sampler. An entire orchestra can be loaded on a single PC or laptop and is designed to run completely in RAM.

Articulations: Garritan Personal Orchestra allows you to create your articulations in real time, in much the same manner as a real player does. Garritan Personal Orchestra utilizes an intelligent yet simple control system so that most articulations can be played expressively in real-time with standard keyboard controllers. You simply use the keyboard controllers to 'shape' the articulations to craft a melodic line in a similar way a genuine player would. This intuitive and standardized approach allows for quick composing and makes playing familiar and natural.

Using these controllers you can create the articulations you want on the fly. So, for example, if you want a spiccato then hit the key quick and light, if you want a surging crescendo then ride the Mod Wheel, for fluid legato lines engage the legato sustain, for portato you would use the mod wheel and pedal, and so on. You can instantaneously perform a variety of staccatos, tremolos, trills, sustains, legatos, portatos, a range of gentle to accented attacks, crescendos, portamentos, alternating bow strokes, tongued and slurred articulations for winds; and you can change between them on the fly. With little practice, you can do several things simultaneously as you play your articulations (in real time as a real player does) and you can hear the musical results while you're doing it.
